LOCAL HISTORIAN OFFERS PAY-WHAT-YOU-WILL WALKING TOURS OF TREASURE ISLAND
Golden Gate International Exposition Historian and Treasure Island Museum Vice President Anne Schnobelen will lead three walking tours of the island to mark the 85th anniversary of the fair's opening day on three consecutive Saturdays next month.
These tours will feature access to “secret places” not readily accessible to the public. They will focus on the historic airport buildings, but might include a larger area of the island (depending on the weather and the group’s energy). Discussion will include the building of the island, the G.G.I.E. and Pan American years, the Navy decades, the Treasure Island Museum, and the ongoing transformation of Treasure Island.
Tickets for these tours are available for a donation of any size.
Space is limited; click here for details or to reserve tickets today.
