Future Museum Secures Space in Building One
The City of San Francisco's Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA) has allocated space for our museum on the ground floor of historic Building One.
On February 14, the TIDA Board endorsed terms for a future lease of at least 3,500 square feet of exhibit space, plus back of house space in the basement for offices, storage and exhibition preparation.
The museum occupied the lobby floor from its founding in 1975 to the 1997 closure of Naval Station Treasure Island. We returned with interim exhibits beginning in 2008. This milestone is another step toward reestablishing the full museum and resuming our role as the welcoming platform for visitors to the redeveloped Treasure Island.
