Ah yes, I remember leaving Dallas on a flight to SF and Treasure Island. It was in August 1964 and 104 degrees. When we landed it was 56 degrees and the wind was 15 knots out of the South. Didn't wear my whites until I got home in '65. I think I was the only CT that was going thru electronic school..Graduated in '65 and sent to CT Crypto school in Portsmouth, Va and then on to the USS Belmont AGTR-4. Although it was a cold place, SF was a great liberty town of you were on admiral's pay. Coffee houses on every block and hippies out the "wazoo" on Haite-Asbury. Wish I could see TI now but lots of things have changed.
